Swim

How do you keep active?

Studies suggest that we should move every 20 minutes – that means if you’re sitting in an office cubicle, get up and move around every 15 to 20 minutes.  Try some jumping jacks and shake your hips.  This allows circulation flow and lymphatic drainage.

When looking at areas of the world where people live over 100 years, Dan Buettner, National Geographic Magazine, found that  ACTIVITY was one of the nine commonalities that these centenarians shared.  Whether it was a brisk walk, hike, bike ride, swim or gardening in the backyard, these persons were not sitting for an extended period of time.  They moved.

Do you have an extra 15 minutes in the morning?  A jump rope, quick walk or run around the block not only clears your mind and stimulates all of your body and brain cells, it revs your metabolism up and gets you ready for the day.
